As an Instructional Systems Specialist (Integrating Mathematics/Science and Educational Technology Grades PK-5), you will be responsible for the following duties:
Major Duties
?Assesses the system wide effectiveness in the defined teaching area(s) by monitoring the implementation of curriculum/performance standards.
?Develops goals and standards in the specified teaching area(s), including those that support the DoDEA Commu! nity Strategic Plan.
?Integrates data from system wide te! sting programs, accreditation reports and the incumbent?'s supervisory field observations into comprehensive needs statements for the assigned area of responsibility as a basis for the development of system wide action plans to implement curriculum and program standards.
?In the subject matter area(s), directs the systematic review of curriculum/performance/program standards, and methodology for the program area.
?Identifies training needs in the discipline area(s) of responsibility.
?Trains curriculum liaisons, specialists and other leaders in methods for implementing and maintaining effective instruction and assessment both in the existing curriculum and in initiatives for curriculum improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In accordance with the Qualifications Standards for General Schedule (GS) Positions under the General Coverage for Administrative and Management; Positions, the following is being provided to you. This position requires ! 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. You must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. This position requires one year of instructional system experience equivalent to the next lower level in the Federal service which provided knowledge and abilities of leading, managing, and directing a system-wide (Grades PK-5) curriculum development and program designed for integrated Science/Mathematics and Educational Technology.
Candidates must possess the Selective Placement Factor to receive consideration for this position and should address this in either their resume or application.
Selective Placement Factor : this position specifically requires above school level leadership (for example: school administration, college professor, and/or district or state level instructional coordinator) and management experience in the area of Integrating Mathematics/Science and Educational Technol! ogy grades PK-5. Candidates who do not meet the selective placement fac! tor will not receive further consideration for this position.

1. Demonstrated strong mastery of mathematics and integrating Mathematics/Science and Educational Technology (grades PK-5).

3. Skill, knowledge, and substantial background of practical experience with the application of programs in dependent schools in stateside and/or overseas environment.
4. Demonstrated skill and knowledge of staff development in staff development design, training, facilitation and the use of job embedded models and other strategies.

Applicants must meet the BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS as follows: Bachelor Degree or higher:
Bachelor's Degree or higher that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas:
1. Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
2. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
3. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques! for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs! , including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
4. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
5. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software.
