The TV Guide
So, let me tell you about my Friday. A few years ago, PITNB reader Erin Meyers asked if I would answer some questions about blogging for an academic project she was working on and earlier this year, she sent me a copy of the book that her project became. Erin teaches at Oakland University here in the Detroit area and she asked if I would be able to come in and speak to her honors class about the blog. I said yes and yesterday was the day. It had been many years since I stood in front of a class room so I was a bit nervous but her students were great and the class lecture flew by. After class, I made my way downtown to pick up my race materials for the Detroit Marathon tomorrow and then last night, I made my way out to Royal Oak for a late dinner at Little Tree. It was a bizzy but very fun day.
Erin and I have been communicating for years but yesterday was the first day we actually met … not that it mattered, it was as if we were old friends. Her students were so great. They asked really great questions and they helped the time fly by. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to talk for an hour but it turns out that I had far too much to say. Sarah came to class with me and she took photos of the lecture, it was really fun. I hope I can stay in touch with Erin so we can hang out for real the next time I come home to Michigan. After class, I had to book it downtown to pick up my race materials for the marathon tomorrow morning:
The marathon expo was crazy but I managed to get my bib without incident. It’s been cold and rainy all day today so I’m hoping that Mother Nature will get it out of her system before tomorrow’s race. As usual, I don’t feel ready but I’m gonna get out there and do my best irregardless ;)
Dinner last night was at Little Tree. While I should’ve been carbo-loading more smartly but I really wanted sushi so … to Little Tree I went:
Not sure what the plan is for today. As I said, it’s not fun outside so we may just be lazy inside all day. I need to go to bed early tonight anyways since the race is so early in the day tomorrow. My time here in Detroit has FLOWN by! I cannot believe my 10 days is almost up. Blah.
I hope it’s sunny and warm wherever you are this Saturday! Happy Weekend!
